This is a very special episode! I have the honour and absolute pleasure of having no other than the legend, Oliver Percovich, the founder of Skateistan, which has been empowering children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa.! In 2007, fate took him to Kabul, Afghanistan, with 3 skateboards in his suitcase and before long, he started skateboarding on the streets of Kabul.
Long story short, he has been able to use skateboarding as not only an outlet to provide hope and entertainment for kids but also to give them a chance at attending a proper school. In the process, he's opened 3 schools in Afghanistan as well as in South Africa and Cambodia with plans to open in Jordan in the near future. This is one of THE most interesting talks I've had with an incredible human being. Do not miss this one!
